Student Teacher’s Supplement Course (Non-Credit)

This course offers a partnership between student teachers and the instructor in order to utilize a framework that seeks to provide tools associated with advocacy and informed teaching. The framework looks at principles of learning, sources, theoretical implementation, contrasting views and practice, and challenges student teachers to create “give-backs” to the profession as well as strategies for implementing new ideas in a world of red tape, teacher evaluations, and behavioral thinking. 2 hours are spent with the instructor discussing and reflecting on the implementation of the framework. The remaining hours are independently utilized by the student teacher on-site at their teaching placement.
